spring and a storm by razimo spring and a storm by razimo
one time I tried to sing
about spring
and a storm
but you know
how it goes...

:XD: Man, will you just look at this nonsense. I shouldn't post things when I should be in bed, and especially not after I've gotten into the tea, but oh well.

Anyway sculpting is fun, I don't know that I'm good at it, but I enjoy it. My photography skills are as haphazard as ever, although of late they're helped somewhat by my not-awesome but super-forgiving digital camera.

This is, actually, a full-body pose; I'm only posting the shoulders because that's what I've worked on most, because I have a thing for clavicles, and a sweet, patient boyfriend that (mostly) gracfully endures having his chest poked and prodded. :3

Just like everyone else has said, it looks great. But, those eyes, they're so lifelike. Did you use a lighter clay or paint it, mayble the lighting? Anyhow, great work!

Ack! I mean, thank you! ^^; I meant to take this one down; I've worked on it SO much since.

And umm..... thank you for the very kind comment! I love comments, just like cookies; I nibble them so they last a long time. Delicious!

.... you're still here? Oh, you asked a question... you were waiting for me to answer it? Right.. well, would you think less of me if I told you that the eyes were, here, about 75% fake? ^^; They photographed terribly, so I photoshopped them.

In this pic:

...They are 100% real, just dark enough that you can't see how crappy they actually are. *G* They're just straight-pins, the kind with round plastic heads, stuck into the Sculpey. I cut the metal pin down so it wouldn't stick out of the back of his head, then I lightly drew a pupil and iris on with a very soft pencil.. my whole motivation was to get rid of the blank alien look, but it ended up looking rather cool! Cool, assuming you can't see them clearly. If you can, you'd see that they're really very blobby.

I hope I haven't ruined the magic for you! ^^; Thanks again for the kind words!

Awwwww shucks!! ^^; Thank you very much!!!  I've worked rather a lot on the sculpture since I posted this; I've been trying for, uh.. maybe a month?.. to bounce up the courage to post it again... I'm happy enough now that I just might do it!

Oh! Yes, please do! I'm quite awful at working with my hands when it comes to clay and the like, I tried it once and my teacher suggested I just stick with drawing and design... rofl. But if I could, I would love to learn to sculpt.

I'm interested in the recent progress! :D
Oh and you're welcome :)

Hmmm... That's some boyfriend you have there, Ms. Razimo. ^^

Okay, I don't dare laugh; because... in a manner of speaking, I...

.. :XD:

.... well, two things: This isn't a portrait of my boyfriend, although I have talked him into growing his bangs out. (Hell yes! :D ) .. however, he gets credit anyway for amiably enduring having his joints prodded and muslces pondered over, until I could figure out how to sculpt This or That bit. Boyfriend, let me look at your elbow; boyfriend, let me poke at your clavicles; etc.

And now he comes to life (so to speak). *g* I've watched this come from the most simple trunk with four appendages to this and it still amazes me.

And to think it's ...oops, HE is your first attempt at this! :glomp: Sib rules!!

He's lovely, but share the rest of him!! :D
